Prescott Senior Softball Minimum Skill Levels
With primary concern for (1) players’ safety, (2) competitiveness and (3) integrity of the game; all prospective new players shall possess minimum ability and skills before they will be allowed to join the league. Qualification standards consist of the following:
- Hitting: Be able to hit a pitched softball in fair territory to the outfield grass, either in the air or on the ground, a minimum of 5 times out of 10 strikes thrown.
- Throwing: Be able to throw a softball a minimum distance of 65 feet, within 6 feet of the target, in 4 out of 5 attempts without bouncing or rolling the ball.
- Fielding: Be able to catch a softball, thrown from a distance of 65 feet and within an arm’s reach, 4 out of 5 attempts.
- Running: Be able to run the 65 feet from home to first base in 7 seconds or less at least once in three attempts.
Those individuals not meeting the above standards cannot join Prescott Senior Softball. They may, however, repeat the testing process.
