PRESCOTT SENIOR SOFTBALL GOLF OUTING

As previously announced, the PSS Golf Outing will be held on July 24 at 8:00 a.m. at Antelope Hills Golf Course.  I would suggest arriving by at least 7:15 a.m. to find your cart and use your range balls (if you’re interested).

Cost is $75, and includes golf, cart, range balls, lunch and non-alcoholic beverage. Make checks out to Antelope Hills Golf Course.

Antelope Hills is providing a free round of golf for the highest and lowest scoring foursomes.  Format is a scramble and we are playing the South course.  We also have an anonymous donor providing cash prizes for closest to the pin.

I have 43 players who previously expressed interest.  Many already have a foursome.  Individual players will be randomly placed into a foursome.

If you want to play in the golf outing, you must have your cash or check to me no later than Monday, July 22 along with a list of players in your foursome. As noted above, if you do not have a foursome, please just provide payment and a separate paper with your name.  I will be on either Field #1 or Field #2 during regular game days.

I will not accept any payments after our softball games on Monday, July 22 since Antelope Hills must have the list of players and payments with adequate time to set up the event.

If you have any questions, contact me at sharon4847@aol.com or on the field.

Dear PSS players,

After a break of several years, PSS will once again be participating in the Prescott Frontier Days Parade.

KB has graciously offered her truck and trailer for us to use. Together they hold 18 seats.

If you would like to be a part of the parade, whether it’s your first time or you’ve done it many times, we would love to have you join us!

We will have used softballs that we will be rolling to kids in the crowd that they can then keep; we’ll have some players playing catch alongside of the truck and the rest of us will be waving to the crowd from our seats on the truck/trailer.

It’s a great way to show our support for our community and to get the word out about Prescott Senior Softball.

We always have a blast being in this awesome parade with over 100 floats/cars/marching bands and horses.

Since there are only 18 seats, we urge you to RSVP ASAP to claim a seat.

Since it will be hot, we will have drinking water and ice available and we encourage you to bring anything you have that will help you stay cool and hydrated (neck fans, cool ties, etc.)

Details:

What: Prescott Frontier Days Parade 2024

Where: Downtown Prescott (around the square)

Date: Saturday, July 6th, 2024

Time: We will meet at 7:00 AM to decorate our “float” (the truck and trailer). Please come as close to that time as you can. Once we know what number we are in the parade we will let you know where to park. (The parade begins at 9 and ends around noon).

To RSVP or if you have questions please call or text Sandra Zerner at 480-390-8087.

Thank you and hope to see you at the parade!

PSS GOLF OUTING REMINDER

Don’t forget that the PSS Golf Outing is set for Wednesday, July 24 at 8 a.m. at Antelope Hills Golf Course.
We currently have about 45 golfers, but can accommodate more if you’re interested.  If you are not in a foursome, you will be assigned to a foursome once all of the payments are received.

I will be sending out information re: payment during the first week of July.  As I mentioned in an earlier announcement, Antelope Hills Golf Course will not accept direct payment.  Rather, I have to collect your $75 player fee and submit to them.  This covers golf with cart, range balls and lunch (with non-alcoholic beverages).

More information will be communicated in the July update.

The PSS Golf Outing will be held on July 24 (a Wednesday) teeing off at 8:00 a.m.

I am not sure at this point if it’s front or back course.

We have approximately 44 players, which is a good turnout.

Cost is $75.00 per player, which includes golf, cart, a bucket of range balls,

lunch and a non-alcoholic beverage.

Please note this on your calendar.

I will be collecting the $75 for the tournament, however, not until the beginning of July.

I can only take cash or checks.  Antelope will not accept any direct credit card payments,

so that results in me collecting entry fee from all players.

There are a few details yet to be worked out, but we will be playing a scramble.

Also, foursomes have not yet been created for solo players.

That will be done closer to the event.

Just wanted to give you an update so you can plan ahead.

If you have any questions, let me know.  Sharon Carlin

Cactus League Starts Monday

Prescott Senior Softball’s Cactus League begins on Monday, March 4.  Early games in all three divisions are scheduled to start at 9:00 AM.

Please remember to check your e-mails on game-day mornings.  If games have been canceled or delayed, PSS tries to send an e-mail to all players at least one hour before scheduled Game 1 start time.  Since weather in the spring can be tricky, a last look before you leave might save you a trip.

Note that start times for league games are one hour earlier than for the pick-up games we have been playing.  Please be on time.  If your team is not ready to play at scheduled game time, your game will be shortened, not extended.

Rosters and schedules have been posted to the PSS web site.  Click here to view.

IMPORTANT — Summer Season teams are drafted based on what managers see in Cactus League play.  So, be sure that you are assigned to a Cactus team in the division in which you wish to play the Summer Season.  If you think you have been incorrectly assigned for Cactus League, contact the Membership Director (Mark Adams) or a member of the Competition Committee (Jim Fisher, Doug Randall, Steve Smith).
